Into the deep

What to do if a client comes in, asking for a full sleeve project of an underwater scene featuring a kraken drowning a ship?

Throw some tentacles, angry sharks, severed limbs and torn sails into a blender along with rough waves, crushed planks, blood and a loooooot of water and there you are...

Thanks to Paul for giving me the chance to do this on him, loads of fun!

Pictures show some fresh spots here and there, most of it is fully healed...

Breaking new ground....

After more than 6 and a half years, I finally decided to put down my work at Gestochen Scharf in Gelsenkirchen.

I came to a point in life, where I needed a change in my daily work routine and my approach as a tattoo artist in the future.

From now on, I plan to continue doing more guest spots, meeting new people and pushing my boundaries as a person and as an artist as well.

From September, 23rd to September, 28th I will be working at Royal Tattoo in Helsingør, Denmark and from October, 1st 2013 I can be found on a regular basis at some new place in the good old Ruhrpott, which will be announced soon!

Hope to see some of you sooner or later again!

Please don´t take it personal if it takes me a few days to answer your e-mails or phone calls, for I have to reschedule my bookings which may take me some days!

Back from Helsingør!

Last week I did my first Guest Spot at the infamous Royal Tattoo in Helsingør, Denmark - and it was a blast!
Everyone I met during this one week was so nice to meet and work with and it was such a great experience, especially meeting Henning Jørgensen of course, who´s the nicest guy you can imagine!

I´m already looking forward to get back there and hopefully will be working there on a regular basis, so keep checking my blog for updates!

I´ll be working at Royal Tattoo next time from
June, 24th 2013 - June, 29th 2013
and
July, 29th 2013 - August, 3rd 2013

Enough talk now, here´s some pictures of the stuff I was able to do during the week!

On the first day I started with an Angel on Benedicte.
Her grandmother past away some weeks ago, so she asked for a Guardian Angel on her forearm.

On tuesday, Eric came in to get a massive Cover-Up all over his upper arm;
It took us all day to finish this Indian, but in the end both of us were very happy with the final result.

On the next day, Anne Marie came to get her very first tattoo - a snow leopard on her shoulder.
Unfortunately, I had to find out that taking pictures with the iPad was not the best idea, so sorry for the bad picture here....

The longest but also the nicest session of the week was on Wadih, who asked for a Day of The Dead Girlhead. Although it took all day, it was a very relaxed and sitting and Wadih took all the beating with a smile :-)

Friday started with the beginning of a flower and fairy themed back piece on Jeanette - it will be a multiple session piece, so there´s no pictures yet, only 3 hours into it so far;

In the afternoon Jenny came for her first tattoo and she was VERY nervous...but 40 minutes later, everything was over and she started smiling again...

To finish of the week at Royal Tattoo, I did this huuuge black and gray rose on Malene, which was one of the toughest girls I ever tattooed.
4,5 hours straight on her hip/ribs and she almost felt asleep and did not even ask for a single break!

After work, I was happy enough to get tattooed in the evening by Stef, who has also been working at Royal Tattoo during that week and who shared the guest house with me.
He did a "Cobra Kai" piece on me and it´s totally awesome! THX again, Stef - great job!

Check out his website and book an appointment with him, he will also be attending Strasbourg Convention next week!

...from the deepest Depths

Today I had the pleasure to welcome back the infamous Paul™, who´s already some kind of "veteran" here in my blog and those who check regularly know that I´ve done some of my favorite pieces so far on this guy...

This time we decided to go a little bit bigger and started a full sleeve project.
Paul came up with the idea of a kraken pulling a ship underwater - of course, I was excited from the first moment and couldn´t wait to start with it!
As a documentary junkie I pulled out some of my nicest reference books and started to get lost in the line-drawing...

What you can see in these pictures is the result of the first session - we completed all the linework so up next is filling this beast with colours - so stay tuned, dammit!

B-52

I just finished this really fun tattoo on Benny, who came up with the idea originally planned for his arm.
Due to his job position he then decided to put this across his back.
As he told me, he was really into war machinery (he´s a death metal drummer, so this should explain it all ;-) ) and especially likes the B-52 Stratofortress, so he decided to get it into his skin permanently...
I liked the idea of Death riding on a bomber, planting carpets of GP-bombs and bringing death from the sky...

The tattoo was finished within two sessions and it was actually his very first tattoo - respect to you, Benny!

All the linework and parts of the skeleton are fully healed in these pictures, I´ll try to get some healed shots of the whole design in a few weeks, stay tuned!

Guest spot IN BRUGES

I´m very happy to announce my first Guest Spot in 2013 at Mom´s Body Shop in Bruges aka Brugge aka Brügge, Belgium.

I´ll be working there from Tuesday, April 1st (no, it´s not a joke) until Saturday, 6th of April 2013.
Of course you can try to get a walk-in at the shop but best chances are if you get in touch with me or Dave and Liesbeth from Mom´s  Body Shop in advance to make sure to save yourself an appointment!

Notice, that I can only do one-session pieces that can be finished throughout one day during this week - so if you want bigger pieces from me, you must be willing to come over to Germany for follow-up sessions!

You can see some samples of my work on my blog or in my facebook page.
As you can find out, I´m not into plain blackwork, like tribal, maori or dot work stuff - for anything else feel free to get in touch:
